About Nest Realty

Founded in Charlottesville, Virginia, Nest Realty has grown into a multi-market independent brokerage with more than 500 agents across the Southeast. Built on a culture of genuine connection — to clients, to communities, and to each other — Nest has long been known for the quality of its client experiences and the care it brings to every interaction. With a design philosophy rooted in warmth, trust, and authenticity, the brand reflects a company that has always believed the feeling a client has with Nest matters as much as the transaction itself.

Leading the marketing function is VP of Marketing Paigelee Hodges and her team, who operate as a full-service in-house creative agency supporting more than 500 agents across the Nest network. Over the past eighteen months, that team has been focused on one mission: bringing Nest's refreshed brand to life across every touchpoint — from print and digital to events, websites, social media, signage, and agent-facing materials. The goal was not a new visual identity. It was a cohesive brand experience that could scale without losing what makes Nest distinctly Nest.

Why They Won

What Judges Said

  1. Rebrand Execution at Scale
    • Over eighteen months, Nest Realty successfully transformed its entire brand — not just updating a logo, but implementing a new visual system across hundreds of agents and multiple markets. Judges recognized the discipline required to execute a rebrand at this scale without losing consistency or cultural authenticity. Every touchpoint was considered. Every piece of the system was built to work together.
  2. Brand Consistency Through Technology
    • Nest's use of MAXA as a brand management platform was a standout factor. By building customizable, guardrail-protected templates, the marketing team gave agents creative flexibility while maintaining tight brand standards. Judges noted that this approach — using technology to scale quality without sacrificing it — represents a model for independent brokerages operating across multiple markets.
  3. Authentic Emotional Connection
    • What distinguished Nest's entry was the feeling behind the work. Every touchpoint — publications, events, digital content, local market initiatives — was designed to create the same emotional resonance. Judges recognized that Nest had moved beyond visual identity into something rarer: a brand people actually feel. Genuine connection is not just a company value at Nest. It is the organizing principle of everything they build.

"A strong brand isn't just something people recognize. It's something they feel. The best brands create an emotional connection, and that's what we're always working toward."

— Paigelee Hodges, VP of Marketing — Nest Realty

Case Study Deep Dive

The Challenge

Nest Realty had a strong culture and a beloved local reputation — but its brand had not kept pace with its growth. As the company expanded into new markets and added agents, the need for a cohesive, scalable brand system became critical. The challenge was to evolve the visual identity without losing what made Nest feel distinctly Nest: warmth, authenticity, and genuine connection.

The Approach

The rebrand began with a strategic foundation developed alongside branding agency 1000WATT. From there, VP of Marketing Paigelee Hodges and her team took over implementation — building out the templates, content systems, and brand experiences that would allow the new identity to scale. Central to that effort was MAXA, which the team uses to deploy customizable, brand-controlled templates to agents across every market. The team also tracks template usage and adoption data to continuously improve what they offer agents, ensuring their tools reflect how people actually work.

"We want agents to have flexibility, but we also want every piece of marketing to feel unmistakably Nest. The challenge is finding the balance between creativity and consistency."
— Paigelee Hodges, VP of Marketing — Nest Realty

The Result

The 2025 Exhibit Award recognized not just the quality of the creative work, but the full scope of what Nest built: a brand system that scales without sacrificing soul. From the first interaction a client has with a Nest agent to the last, every touchpoint now works together to reinforce the same feeling. The rebrand gave the whole team the opportunity — in Hodges' words — to "step back and see how much we had built in a relatively short period of time."
